Privacy

Privacy.

This privacy notice is a draft and is pending legal review. It describes how the service is meant to work today. It is not legal advice and will change before it is final.

What we collect, and why.

Account information.

Your name, email address and sign-in details. We use them to create your account, sign you in and reach you about your entities.

Identity verification.

When you become a member of an entity you verify your identity. The documents you provide are used only to confirm who you are. The record shows that you are verified, not the documents themselves.

Entity records.

What you put on an entity record is public by design: the entity name, its members and their roles, its constitution and its standing. That is the purpose of a registry. Do not put on a record anything you do not want public.

Usage data.

Pages visited, actions taken and basic device information. We use it to keep the service working, find faults and understand what people use. We do not sell it.

How long we keep it.

Account information is kept while your account is open and for a short period after it closes. Verification documents are kept only as long as needed to confirm identity and meet our obligations as a registry, then deleted. Public entity records are permanent: a registry that forgets is not a registry. Usage data is kept in aggregate and deleted in raw form on a rolling basis.

Your choices, and how to reach us.

You can see and correct the information in your account at any time. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you and for your account to be closed. Entries on a public record can be corrected by the entity, but the history of changes stays visible. Questions and requests go to hello@entity.id. Anything sensitive goes to security@entity.id.

Questions about your data.

Write to hello@entity.id and a person replies.
